READING Speedway’s Smallmead Stadium track has been present on the computer game Speedway Turbo Sliders (British Speedway Sliders), since the beginning of its nearly 5 year existance but now with an upgraded game its riding better than ever!

Now speedway fans from around the country in the UK and overseas speedway fans from Poland, Denmark and a few more nationalities, can get a feel for what it is like to race on the track that has become one of the most popular in the country. The game is free to download from http://www.britishspeedwaysliders.com/ forum/ and there is a large on-line community that run a league and on-line practice sessions.

A few Racers fans have tried the game such as Stephen, WimbledonDon, SteveP and they feels the developers have done a good job replicating the Smallmead Stadium track “Just as in real life it’s not the most difficult track but that just ensures the racing is ever so close. There are several racing lines, with one being more dominate than the other. Initially we found the game difficult, like many others did but we practiced using different bikes and eventually stopped crashing so much. It is very realistic and for any speedway fan who likes computer games then it is likely to become very addictive!”.

“Recently the game has had a major upgrade in its game facilities and track variety with many tracks in Britian, Poland, Germany, Scandinavian and other Miscellaneous International tracks. In addition there is the inclusion of Longtracks and some games like Punaball, Battles (fighting) and XBumps (Sumo!), there really is a wide range of stuff to do on the game. Everyone involved is a speedway fan and they are really friendly and helpful. They run meetings for beginners once a week, on a Sunday evening which is called The Pool Academy, They are really helpful in getting to grips with the game and getting involved in the game as a whole, it was good fun when many of us league riders took part in it, and on the rare occasion when we might get an invite to ride”
